MY STORY

As a young teenager, I could always be found drawing. Friends and family started asking for their own custom work, so I started making and I never looked back. Over the years, my commissioned artwork adventures have included acrylic and watercolor paintings, pen and ink drawings, logo design, merchandise and brand design, tattoo design, architectural drawings, medical illustration, installations, murals, chalk drawings, and more.

While attending UCF to earn my Studio Art BFA, I found myself straying from the beaten path of fine art coursework, as I ended up in an internship at a UCF-based non-profit called Limbitless Solutions. Surrounded by engineers and 3D printing, computer programmers writing code, and game developers building digital worlds, I learned how to expand and apply my fine art skills into creative problem solving and design thinking. I fell in love with the intersection of art and industry, of design and engineering, of creativity and teamwork. I’ve been chasing ways to be in the middle of design conversations ever since.

At Limbitless I picked up physical skills such as airbrushing, spray booth operation and use, respirator certification, and materials safety, while working with 3D-printed plastics, silicone casting, and professional grade automotive paints and clear coats. Promoted to Team Lead in my second year, I also sharpened skills in project management, team leadership, mentoring development students, event planning and execution, and teaching and speaking opportunities. A pivotal moment for me though at Limbitless was the day they introduced me to Photoshop.

Photoshop led me to Illustrator, Illustrator to InDesign, and from there to the rest of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite. I love the responsiveness of digital design, the world of control at my fingertips, and the ease of creating and digital sharing assets. After attending and speaking at Adobe MAX, Adobe’s annual global conference in 2019, on behalf of Limbitless Solutions, I realized graphic design was a world waiting to be discovered. The intersection of marketing, visual art, creative design, communication, and psychology, graphic design is the magic that makes messages seen. I am currently working as a graphic designer in the health and wellness industry, painting murals as they come, and enjoying every minute of it.
